NetLogo-graphStream executable

I am looking for advice on how to seamlessly integrate a NetLogo simulation
with a graphStream Java app.  Right now I need to sequence the two
independently to ensure that senders and receivers are invoked in the right
order.  I want to be able to control all execution from the NetLogo 
simulation.
Please advise the best way to integrate and/or advise on another list that I
should post this request to.
